Archiving

Jurnal Hilirisasi IPTEKS (JHI) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and security of all published content. The journal recognizes that digital preservation is essential to maintaining the scholarly record and ensuring that published works remain permanently available to the global research community, regardless of any future technical or organizational changes.

To achieve this, JHI utilizes multiple trusted archiving systems as part of its preservation strategy:

1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

All articles published in JHI are automatically archived in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). This service, provided by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), ensures long-term storage and preservation of content from Open Journal Systems (OJS) journals. PKP PN provides secure, decentralized, and redundant preservation, allowing journal content to remain accessible even if the website experiences downtime or ceases operation.

2. LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)

JHI participates in the LOCKSS program, which allows participating libraries to collect, preserve, and serve access to journal content. The LOCKSS system guarantees permanent access by maintaining multiple copies of each article across a global network of libraries, ensuring authenticity and reliability of preserved content.

3. CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)

The journal also uses CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS), a community-governed archive that provides a secure and decentralized preservation network for scholarly content. CLOCKSS serves as a “dark archive” that guarantees permanent and open access to all preserved content in the event that JHI or its publisher is no longer operational.

4. Self-Archiving and Repository Deposit

In addition to formal archiving mechanisms, authors are encouraged to self-archive their work. JHI allows authors to deposit all versions of their manuscripts—preprint, postprint, and published versions—in institutional, disciplinary, or personal repositories without embargo, provided that proper citation and links to the original article are included.

5. Commitment to Digital Preservation

Through PKP PN, LOCKSS, and CLOCKSS, Jurnal Hilirisasi IPTEKS ensures that all published articles are securely preserved, discoverable, and accessible in perpetuity. This multi-layered preservation strategy guarantees that scholarly content remains part of the global digital knowledge infrastructure for future generations.
